Ski touring that means being on your own in the mountains far away from the hustle and bustle. This effort is rewarded with a descent through unsurfaced terrain and fresh fresh snow.
From the end of the 19th century to the construction of the first ski lifts ski touring was the usual form of skiing.
For some years, this original winter sport has again enjoyed great popularity. In addition to a good condition, it needs a special equipment: skis with a touring binding and skins, which are raised during the climb so as not to slip off the steep slope and sticks.
The first time you do a ski tour, it's best to book a ski tour with an experienced mountain guide. The Schladming-Dachstein Tourism Association has put together a list of providers of guided ski tours. There are individual as well as group tours.
